DESCRIPTION:42nd AnnualJaws Fishing Derby 2026 Rules\nThe JAWS Derby is Friday June 5\,6 and 7th.Fishing begins Friday and Saturday one hour before sunrise and ends at 4:00 pm. Sunday fishing begins one hour before sunrise and ends at 2pm.The fishing area is west of a line running from the Port Wing Wisconsin entry to the Two Harbors Minnesota entry. This includes the Duluth/Superior harbor and the St. Louis River and bays. You may only use public access or marina facilities that are located within the Jaws Derby boundaries. Anyone fishing east of the Port Wing Two Harbors line will be disqualified.\nWeigh-in times:Friday June 5th and Saturday June 6th 3 pm – 4 pmSunday June 7th 2 pm – 3 pm\nWeigh-In requirements:• The person weighing a fish must be the person who caught the fish and must supply their derby ticket.• A person entering a fish must be in line at the weigh-in station before the weigh-in closing time to be eligible to enter the fish. A “stand in” person will be allowed to hold a place only if both the person entering the fish and the fish to be entered are at the weigh-in station no later than 10 minutes after the published weigh-in closing time. No early or late weigh-in will be allowed.• Any fish not considered fresh will be disqualified by Jaws Derby officials.• A person may enter only one fish in each fish category but may replace the fish with a larger one. (A contestant may only win one place in each fish division).\nIn the event a small craft advisory is issued NO trout or salmon (Lake Superior fish) will be weighed in the day/days the advisory is in effect. All Derby committee decisions are final!!\nAll boats and their coolers may be subject to immediate inspection before\, during\, or immediately after the JAWS Derby upon any JAWS Official’s. Declining the inspection may result in tournament disqualification.\nJaws Officials reserve the right to disqualify any participant\, or any boat’s participants at any time for any or no reason. All fish will be subject to random inspection. Upon disqualification\, participant fees may or may not be refunded at the will of JAWS Officials.\nThe goal of JAWS Officials is to sponsor a fun and fair fishing contest to recreational and serious anglers. It is vital that we protect both the tournament’s competition (and thus the competitors)\, and the tournament’s image!\nNightly drawing prizes:Special prize drawings for Jaws Derby ticket holders will be held shortly after the late-day weigh-in times Friday and Saturday. DESCRIPTION:This 3.1 mile out and back\, chip-timed\, run/walk will begin and end at Endion Station in Canal Park\, Duluth\, MN.   There will be awards and prize packs for the top male and female finishers! \nThe Kids’ Fun Run (for anyone 12 and under) will begin immediately following the 5K\, expected start time will be between 10-10:30am.   \nThere will also be door prizes!  After you finish the race\, enter your bib number for a chance to win a door prize of your choosing.  That’s right—you pick the prize you want to win! \nWhether you’re eyeing that gift card\, cool gear\, or something fun for the family\, just drop your number next to the prize you want most. Join us for snacks and prizes while cleaning up our favorite local spot. \nThe Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve\, in partnership with the City of Superior\, are holding another annual Spring Beach Cleanup at the Point! Wisconsin Point is a wonderful destination for relaxing\, refreshing\, and enjoying the shoreline of Lake Superior. \nSince the Friends adopted Wisconsin Point from the City of Superior back in 2021\, we strive to keep the beach as healthy and pristine as can be! Help us keep to this promise by joining us for our 2026 Spring Beach Cleanup on Saturday\, May 9. \nSnacks\, water\, and supplies (trash bags\, grabbers\, and disposable plastic gloves) will be provided. Please wear clothing suited for the weather and close-toed shoes. Meet at Lot 1 Wisconsin Point at 9:30 am for instructions and supplies. Look for the Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve table and sign. \nIn the event in inclement weather\, a cancellation email will be sent to all registered participants and a notice will be posted on the Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve’s Facebook page.
