The Eagle’s Nest Photo Album is part of the St. Louis County Historical Society’s collection stored in the Albert J. Amatuzio Research Center. Duluthian Veteran Lawrence Swan brought home the album when the 101st Airbourne was given the privilege to be the first unit to enter Hitler’s infamous Eagle’s Nest during the close of WWII in Europe. The history of the album and the story of its acquisition and accessioning will be discussed.
The History in a Pint program series is presented by Veterans Memorial Hall wherein a veteran, or a veteran’s story, is presented about their experiences serving in the military while guests enjoy a pint of beer or two from some of our local brewers that will be available for purchase. All are welcome to attend, ask questions and join in camaraderie. Attendance is free of charge, but donations are welcomed. Seating will be available.
