A stone sign reads "Jay Cooke State Park, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources" with an illustration of a bridge and trees. It's flanked by two stone pillars, surrounded by greenery.

Meet at the River Inn Visitor Center
Get ready for an icy adventure as we dive into the world of winter snow shelter
construction. This hands-on kids’ program will teach how to safely construct a
quinzhee and what is needed for winter survival. Bring a shovel or snow scoop if you have one. We will break for lunch as the snow hardens. Bring lunch or snacks. Hot beverages will be provided. Please sign-up ahead of time by January 30th so we can plan enough building supplies.
