Junior Rangers – Wild About Birds @ Jay Cooke State Park – Carlton MN

Saturday, November 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

  Jay Cooke State Park
A stone sign reads "Jay Cooke State Park, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources" with an illustration of a bridge and trees. It's flanked by two stone pillars, surrounded by greenery.

Discover the world of birds in winter during this kids program. Learn how birds survive the cold, who’s spending the winter in the park, and create a simple pinecone feeder to take home. Please sign up ahead of time by November 21st so we have enough birdfeeder craft supplies.

Where to Meet: The River Inn Visitor Center.

Who Should Come? Everyone is welcome. This program is for a wide variety of ages. The birdfeeder craft will use peanut butter and bird seed that comes from a factory that may also process nuts. Gluten-free cornmeal and lard are also used. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the naturalist.

What to Bring? No extra equipment is needed. There will be binoculars available to watch birds. We may go outdooJayrs for a short time to view birds nearby. Dress for the weather.
