Finding Joy During Hard Times
Stories, Trivia, and Folk Songs of the 1930s and ’40s
Author Naomi Helen Yaeger will share a humorous St. Patrick’s Day story and read from her book Blooming Hollyhocks: Tales of Joy During Hard Times, offering glimpses of everyday life in a Midwest town during the Great Depression. Guests will also have the opportunity to make a traditional cornhusk doll and learn about this historic prairie craft.
