On Tuesday, June 23 at 6 p.m., Superior Public Library will host Superior authors Thomas Johnson, Anthony Bukoski, and Victoria Lynn Smith. They will read briefly from their work, then discuss how and why they write and the process by which they have sold book-length manuscripts to publishers. A question-and-answer period will follow.
Publishers Weekly called Johnsonโs book Rescuing Claire โan immensely appealing first novel,โ Kirkus Reviews describing his prose as โmuscular.โ Booklist called the lengthy first piece in Bukoskiโs The Thief of Words โstriking,โ going on to say, โBukoskiโs stories finely capture the unobserved weight of identity and things left behind.โ Smithโs rich and wise debut story collection, Silent Negotiations, will be published in February 2027 by Cornerstone Press.
