Pattison State Park
Discover breathtaking pines and miles of hiking and skiing trails in this 1,400-acre park. The main feature, however, is Big Manitou Falls. This majestic waterfall is the highest in Wisconsin and the fourth tallest east of the Rockies! 

Amnicon and Brule River Beaches
The locals are gonna be upset we’re letting you in on this one. If you’re looking to ditch the crowds, check out the beaches at the mouths of the Amnicon and Brule Rivers. These are perfect for a stroll with the pup or a romantic picnic. Click below for a map of all the beaches in Douglas County!

The St. Croix Watershed
Starting in the southern portion of Douglas County, this watershed covers around 7,800 square miles. It consists of all the rivers and creeks that lead into the St. Croix River and, eventually, the mighty Mississippi.

Superior Municipal Forest Mountain Bike Trails
In 2020, a student at Superior High School decided to construct some mountain bike trails for his senior project. After working with the City of Superior and numerous volunteers, the first segment of the trail was opened in the Superior Municipal Forest! While the segment isn’t long yet, plans are in the works to extend it with the help of the Cyclists of the Gitchee Gumee Shores (COGGS) bike club.
