– Superior vs. Northwestern – First pitch at 4:30 PM
– Expect softball, fun, and fundraising: Bid on baskets, 50/50 raffle, and support the athletes!
All proceeds go toward supporting the Bong Center’s mission to honor veterans.
More about the volunteers. Dallas first joined the Bong Squadron in 2022, leading tour guides. He’s currently in his last semester at Superior High School and is also enlisted in the Army and will depart on July 13th to start his training. Amber plays centerfield on the Superior High School softball team (#9). She originally joined back in 2025 as a youth group volunteer. Both have volunteered at the Bong Center well beyond their initial involvement and plan to continue doing so. At least when they’re available. Dallas is already trying to plan his return visits from training, and Amber will be studying either History or Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stout or Eau Claire.
They chose to pick this event as their senior project for the same reasons they already volunteer at the Bong Center. In this case, they want to raise money for a local cause that supports our veterans. Leading up to this game, they’ve approached dozens of local businesses asking for their support. Many of the baskets are provided by these local businesses, and they’ve also created a tiered sponsorship program to help raise their funds. If you want to learn more or support their project, please reach out to the Bong Center for their contact info.
The game itself will even be umpired by two veterans!
