Inga Lingonberry, a Swedish beauty, is a new immigrant. Luckily, Duluth in 1912 is full of opportunities for those brave enough to grasp them. After finding work as a maid in a palatial estate (that is definitely NOT Glensheen) on the shore of Lake Superior, Inga soon finds herself torn between the love of two men: Jacques Escargot, the local lutefisk factory baron, and Eric Knutson, the stoic, blonde, hunky Swede. Before she is even aware of what’s happening, Inga finds herself pulled into a world of secret meetings, over-the-top French accents, and midwestern innuendo performed by sock puppets. This loving send-up of romance paperbacks of yesteryear is sure to be the perfect Valentine’s Day treat.
Lust & Lutefisk is LOOSELY based on the actual romance novel “Hearts of Fire”, written by Laura Ashcroft in 1985, and is written by Hailey Eidenschink-Ziebol (or History Hailey as fans of Minnesota Historia may know her) and Rubber Chicken Theater co-founder Brian Matuszak. History Hailey is also directing these preview performances for a full-fledged world premiere event to be held this fall.
Featuring:
Steve Solkela, Jacque Black, Paul Byrne, Victoria Main, Laura Judson, Crystal Abernethy, Taylor Kmiech, Zach Humble, and Kaylee Matuszak.
